VENEERS
There are 2 main types of veneer:
i) Composite (white filling) Veneer
ii) Porcelain Veneer
Composite veneers (also known as bonding) in general involves none or very little tooth preparation and involves placing white filling over the natural tooth surface. It is a very popular treatment as it can be carried out in one session with minimal pain or discomfort. We generally state that these will need to be polished or replaced every 3-5 years.
Porcelain veneers can either be no prep (dependant on suitability) or preparation veneers. This has been the popular choice for many patients as they generally last between 8-15 years and provide the most natural long lasting result. Essentially a veneer is an extremely thin layer of porcelain (think of a bonded fingernail) that is ideally attached to the enamel surface of teeth for ultimate strength.

Crowns
Crowns/Onlays are porcelain caps normally placed over teeth that are heavily broken down and filled. Also they can provide protection and a seal to a tooth after a root canal filling. The advantage of crowns are that they can produce a very long lasting aesthetic result.
SAME DAY CROWNS
Sometimes with the use of digital teeth scanners and time constraints we can create same day crowns which are a fantastic solution to restoring heavily filled broken or cracked teeth. Patients love this treatment as the whole process is completed from start to finish within a few hours.
